What in the heck is Fest of Al???
A lot of you have been asking us that question, so we decided to break down the why, the what, the where and the when of Denver’s first “Weird Al" convention.
Why: Fest owner Raquel felt that the world was well overdue for a “Weird Al” fan convention. There are plenty of events showcasing comedy but not nearly enough showcasing the art of comedy music. With Denver being a popular and central - (ish) hub, Raquel thought it was time to bring “Weird Al” fans together again! The Fest is about community and a love for all things weird. The tickets help pay for the performers and Raquel’s only goal is to create an entertaining event for “Weird Al” fans from around the country and all fans of funny music.
What: Throughout the weekend there will be trivia contests, silent auctions for charity, live music and comedy performances from some of America’s funniest artists, (like our very special guests: The Gregory Brothers!) social hours at various restaurants around Denver, Karaoke, costume contests, comic book writers, Alcon creators, and even a dance party where an Ape DJ spins "Weird Al" Hits. Yes an Ape DJ. Like a gorilla. Yup.
When: September 22nd and 23rd, 2018
Schedule Coming 7/30!
Where: The DoubleTree by Hilton - Stapleton North
This area of Denver known as “Stapleton” was home to Denver’s airport before DIA was built, and has now been renovated into one of Denver’s most popular suburbs. A short Uber ride will take you anywhere in the city and the mountains and hiking trails are only 45 minutes away. There is a light rail station that will take you to and from the airport and downtown, no rental car needed! Tickets are only $9 from the airport!
The hotel will even pick you up at the light rail if you stay in one of our rooms in the Fest of Al block. These discounted rooms are $94 per night (a steal in Denver currently) and has you staying with fans and artists throughout the convention. Only a certain amount of rooms are left so click HERE to secure your reservation today. Colorado is an amazing place to play, come enjoy more than just the fest. Stay tuned for our EPIC ROAD TRIPS blog, which will give you a “Weird Al” themed road trip from all over the US, check that off your bucket list folks.
We hope this helps answer any of your questions!
